Federal College Lagos (FGCL) Alumni Association of North America​

We are the Federal Government College Lagos (FGCL) Alumni Association of North America, a tax-exempt (non-profit) organization under section 501(c)3 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. The alumni association was founded in January 2008 and incorporated in March 2008.

Our Objectives

  1. To serve as a support group for one another, foster a good community, and encourage unity amongst members.
  2. To promote the well-being of current students and faculty of the Federal Government College, (Ijanikin) Lagos, Nigeria.
  3. To project a positive image of the Federal Government College, Lagos, Nigeria.
  4. To promote the well-being of all members of the association.
  5. To encourage good citizenship and better international relationships.

Meetings

  1. General meetings are held about once a quarter, usually on a Sunday evening.
  2. The meetings are held by telephone conference since our members live in various parts of North America.
  3. Committee meetings are held on an ad hoc basis, also via telephone conference calls.
  4. Regional face-to-face meeting are held at different times of the year in different cities.
  5. This includes Atlanta, Houston, New York/New Jersey, Baltimore, Los Angeles, Calgary and Detroit.
  6. Every two years, a special general meeting is held during our biennial reunion. Elections to the executive committee occur at this meting.
